Compare Real World and Virtual Trade Shows

Imagine a big trade show like the Magic Marketplace in Las Vegas. You can find nearly everything there that has anything to do with fashion. But you also will most likely use up at least a pair of shoes and if you are a vendor you will be out of a few thousand dollars - not counting the travel costs.

Now imagine a virtual trade show - one that happens on the internet. You sit comfortably at your desk, a coffee (other other preferred drink) next to your computer and do the walking with your mouse and keyboard. What if you reach at least as many clients (if you are a vendor) or see just as many vendors (if you are a buyer) as if you would have to travel.

Sounds tempting? But I have to warn you, there are certain disadvantages: some of your senses will not be involved when you are not really there. If you are a professional buyer you might not get out of the office, which could be a good or bad thing. And, not to forget, you will not be able to sample the great food options you have at the trade shows - no wait - that is a reason NOT to go.

But certainly, touching the merchandise is certainly something you will be missing. But you can always zoom into some of the products you are interested and then request samples from the vendor - it will still be less expensive for both sides involved.

A Niche Trade Show

This site is the first niche trade show bringing together everything tie-dye.

We invite all vendors of tie-dye products to showcase their offerings and initially this will all be free - be on it fast before that might change.
