Mudmee Sarong by JustZen
It all started some six years ago when friends and family, coming back from Thailand, brought back great outfits of all-tie-dye. This stuff was comfortable and easy to take care off, so I wore it a lot - lose and airy pants and shirts.

Some friends jokingly inquired if I had forgotten - again! - to change out of my pajamas, but it was just friendly teasing. On the other hand I got a lot if questions, even from strangers in the street, where I got those items from.

Finally it clicked and we saw that there was a real market. Combined with the fact that Gigi was/is an artist and surface designer, always interested in fashion, we soon were in the process of building a tie-dye business.

To my biggest surprise the domain Thaidye.com was available. I could not believe that nobody had done the obvious word smelting of tie-dye and Thailand into Thai-Dye. OK, there was a user name on some board and there had been a music group, but that was it.

Gigi went to study the mudmee tie-dye techniques. Less and less artists still know this traditional techniques that are mostly practiced in Thailand and some closely bordering countries, buy with persistence Gigi found one of the best, if not THE best, mudmee artist and was allowed to do an internship.

She combined that with her fashion sense and feel for good cuts and in 2004 the line JustZen was born and the online outlet became Thaidye.com.

Funny story here - when I looked around to learn how to best create this web site and market it, I certainly ran across customer testimonials and I was convinced that they were all fake. Who would go through the trouble of writing all these praises after the purchase was complete? I had to revise that opinion very quickly because as soon as our sales started, testimonials come in without any solicitation.

Enough of the story and history of ThaiDye.com - let's look at some of the items we have to offer...

(more to come soon as I find time to write more - in the meantime just browse the site)
